Public service is my priority and I want to lead an Auditor's Office that responds to the needs of Franklin County citizens. I will bring the Auditor's Office into the 21st century with outstanding constituent services and fiscal common sense.

Franklin County Auditor Michael Stinziano took office on March 11, 2019. He is a pragmatic and innovative leader who works in a bipartisan manner to get results for his constituents.

The youngest of four children, Michael grew up understanding the importance of independent thinking and fairness, and the value of serving others.

Michael was born in central Ohio and grew up in the University community. He received a bachelor's degree in leadership studies from the University of Richmond. Later, while working for the Woodrow Wilson International Center, a Smithsonian Institution think tank in Washington, D.C., Michael earned a master's degree in public administration from George Washington University. After returning to Columbus, Michael graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and became an attorney.

In 2008, as Director of the Franklin County Board of Elections, Michael led a bipartisan staff of Democrats and Republicans who conducted a historic, controversy-free Presidential election in one of the largest election jurisdictions in the country

From 2011 to 2016, Michael proudly represented the residents and businesses of Columbus in the Ohio General Assembly.

He was a proven leader in creating jobs to grow Ohio's economy and championed legislation that fostered small business growth to create, retain, and sustain good paying jobs in Central Ohio.

From 2016 through 2019 Stinziano served as a member of Columbus City Council, where he was elected President Pro Tem in 2018. Michael served as Chair of Council's Neighborhoods Committee, Technology Committee, and Public Utilities Committee.

In addition, he chaired Age Friendly Columbus, the award-winning citywide initiative that ensures that individuals of all ages and abilities can remain in their neighborhoods and live a high quality of life independently.

Michael has served on numerous boards, including the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Ohio House of Representatives Task Force on Alzheimer's and Dementia, and the National League of Cities Information Technology and Communications Committee.

He is an Adjunct Law Professor at Capital University Law School where he teaches the course on Legislation.

Michael and his wife Caroline, a certified public accountant, are the proud and busy parents of 5-year-old Michael Cooper Joseph Stinziano and 3-year-old Riley Marie Appolonia Stinziano. They live in the University Community with their two rescue pugs, Wrigley and Fenway, and belong to St. Agatha Parish in Upper Arlington.

Maryellen O'Shaughnessy has served as Franklin County Clerk of Common Pleas Court since 2009.  In this position, she made court documents available online and later guided the agency in a multi-year transition from traditional paper filings to e-Filing.
 
Prior to serving as Clerk, Ms. O'Shaughnessy served three terms as a Columbus City Council Member, where she served as the chair of the Public Service and the Transportation, Utilities, and Development committees.  Ms. O’Shaughnessy earned an undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University.
 
Ms. O’Shaughnessy serves on several community and charitable organizations as a volunteer, member, or board member, including the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, MORPC’s Water Quality Working Group, the Shamrock Club of Columbus, and the Scandinavian Club of Columbus.  She has served on the boards of the Columbus Historical Society, the Greenways Working Group of the MORPC, and Consider Biking.  She is active in her local parish and is a past recipient of the Diocesan Service Award.  Ms. O’Shaughnessy is a fourth-generation funeral director and owner of O'Shaughnessy Company Funeral Directors, established in 1889.

John O'Grady has served with the Franklin County Board of Commissioners since 2009.  He has served four one-year terms as Board President throughout his time on the Board.
 
As Commissioner, Mr. O’Grady has assumed leadership roles in many varied economic development initiatives.  He serves as a member of the Board of Directors, as a member of their Metropolitan & Regional Affairs Committee for the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO), and as Chair of the General Government & Operations Committee. He was appointed Vice-Chair of the Large Urban County Caucus for the National Association of Counties (NACo).  Mr. O’Grady serves as member of NACo’s Community, Economic and Workforce Development Committee (CEWD) and, as Vice Chair of the CEWD Workforce Subcommittee, he brought NACo’s Annual Conference and Exposition (an event that welcomed more than 2000 county commissioners) to Franklin County in 2017.
 
Prior to his current position, Mr. O’Grady served eight years as the Clerk of Courts for the Franklin County Common Pleas Courts and the 10th District Court of Appeals.  He has also worked as an administrator in the State Treasurer's office and owned his own business.
 
Mr. O’Grady and his wife, Pamela Hykes O'Grady, are the parents of four children.

Daniel J. O'Connor, Jr., has served as the Franklin County Recorder since 2017.  
 
Mr. O’Connor earned his undergraduate degree from Wright State University and his law degree from The Syracuse University College of Law, where he was Vice President of the Student Body.  He served as a legal advocate at Part of the Solution Legal Clinic in New York, working with veterans, immigrants, and individuals stricken by homelessness and poverty.  After graduating, he worked in the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office in the Juvenile Division before joining the law firm Weis and O’Connor, where he specialized in family law.  In 2015, Mr. O’Connor and his partner contributed to the American Association of Matrimonial Lawyer's Amicus Brief, advising the Supreme Court of the United States on its marriage equality ruling.
 
Mr. O’Connor resides in Clintonville.

Cheryl Brooks Sullivan has served as the Franklin County Treasurer since 2017.  She is the first African American to be elected to her position.
 
Ms. Brooks Sullivan is a veteran of the United States Army Security Agency, Central Intelligence Division.  Upon her return, she worked with a labor union, specializing in Asbestos Abatement, before becoming involved in the management, administration, appraisal, and sale of real estate.  She was increasingly involved in local community organizations before assuming her current position as Treasurer.
 
She is affiliated with a number of community organizations, including The Ohio Memorial Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Homeport Ohio, the Innis Gardens Village Civic Association, the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, the Woodland Park Civic Association, Louise Ann Lucky Scholarship Endowment, Bethany Presbyterian Church, Bethany Bronzeville Community Garden, and the Poindexter Village Historical Preservation.
 
Ms. Brooks Sullivan has two children and four grandchildren.

Antone White was appointed as Director of the Franklin County Board of Elections in January 2021. He is responsible for the administration of elections in Franklin County where more than 880,000 voters are currently registered.  
 
Previously, he served as Director of Legal Operations in the office of Franklin County Clerk of Courts Maryellen O’Shaughnessy, and as communications specialist and public safety spokesperson in the administration of former Columbus Mayor Michael B. Coleman.
 
A Columbus native, Mr. White earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University. He is also a graduate of Leadership Columbus and of the Greater Columbus Tourism Ambassador program.

David R. Payne has served as Deputy Director of the Franklin County Board of Elections since 2015.
 
Prior to his current position as Deputy Director, he served as Chief of Staff in the Ohio Department of Administrative Services beginning in 2012.  There, he coordinated the daily operations of the 800-employee state agency.  Mr. Payne also previously served as Chief of Parks for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and managed a number of other state offices.  He has also worked as a consultant for many political campaigns.  Mr. Payne earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University.
 
He and his wife, Karen, live in New Albany and have two daughters.
