Ohio County/City Information Technology Association

The Franklin County Data Center is a member of the Ohio County/City Information Technology Association (OCITA). OCITA is a comprehensive learning partnership that benefits counties, cities, and individuals by combining shared real world experience and working relationships.

Ohio Digital Government Summit

The Data Center participates in the Ohio Digital Government Summit, held each fall in Columbus, Ohio, as a member of the planning committee. Sponsored by Government Technology, the Summit is attended by over 200 IT professionals from state and local governments. The purpose of the event is to foster discussion on the use of information technology as a strategic tool for executives, managers, and policy makers. Topics typically include:

Information Technology Financial Management Association

The Franklin County Data Center maintains a membership in the Information Technology Financial Management Association (ITFMA). ITFMA provides a comprehensive educational program based on the principles and practices used to manage information technology organizations financially. ITFMA is the national leader in the education of IT fiscal management professionals and the only recognized provider of certification in the various disciplines of IT financial management.

Project Management Institute

Data Center staff within both Administration and the Program Management Office maintains membership with the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI is the world's largest not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession. Our professional resources and research empower more than 700,000 members, credential holders and volunteers in nearly every country in the world to enhance their careers, improve their organizations' success and further mature the profession.

PMI's worldwide advocacy for project management is reinforced by our globally recognized standards and certification program, extensive academic and market research programs, chapters and communities of practice, and professional development opportunities.

Certifications

The Data Center's Management Team has received certification in the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 Framework. ITIL is the most widely adopted approach for IT service management in the world. It provides a practical framework for identifying, planning, delivering, and supporting IT services to the business world. Data Center staff has also received Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI. The PMP® credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PMP® demonstrates that you have the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.

Other members of the Data Center are challenged to pursue ITIL certification, as well as certifications in their field of expertise.
